RevItUp! Border Collies
Contracts

We have a breeding rights contract and a non-breeding contract. Look below for more information on these two types of contracts. We will soon post our contracts on the website.

Breeding Rights

Dogs with sold with breeding rights are sold on a co-ownership contract. The cost of breeding rights is either the cost of a puppy, or pick of the litter from the dog's first litter. Dogs must be two years old, OFA, and CEA/CH tested before bred. Breedings must be approved by us before they take place. Once the dog is spayed or neutered, we'll sign off as co-owner and give the buyer full ownership of the dog on both ABCA and AKC papers (if the dog is dual registered). Written contracts will be available soon. Summeries on male and female co-ownerships are below.

Males: This breeding contract states the dog is sold on co-ownership with us. The dog shall not be bred until two (2) years of age, has passed OFA hip scoring (Fair, Good, or Excellent), and been Optigen tested CEA/CH Normal or Carrier (unless CEA/CH Normal by parentage). We retain full breeding rights to the male. There will be no stud fee or trade involved for the breeding. Breedings occurring at our own expense. The male can only be studded out to approved females that have passed OFA hip scoring (Fair, Good, or Excellent), are two (2) years of age, and tested for CEA/CH. We do not profit from stud fees. Once the dog is neutered and proof has been provided, we'll sign off as co-owner and give the buyer full ownership of the dog on both ABCA and AKC papers (if the dog is dual registered).

Females: This breeding contract states the dog is sold on co-ownership with us. The dog shall not be bred until two (2) years of age, has passed OFA hip scoring (Fair, Good, or Excellent), and been Optigen tested CEA/CH Normal or Carrier (unless CEA/CH Normal by parentage).  The female can only be bred to approved males that have passed OFA hip scoring (Fair, Good, or Excellent), are two (2) years of age, and tested for CEA/CH. Buyer will be responsible for all expenses related to breeding and whelping this dog’s litters. We will take no money from puppies sold. Once the dog is spayed and proof has been provided, we'll sign off as co-owner and give the buyer full ownership of the dog on both ABCA and AKC papers (if the dog is dual registered).

Non-Breeding

Our non-breeding contract states that any offspring from our offspring are ineligible for registration. Non-breeding status is an ABCA registered dog. It is purebred and both parents are registered with full breeding rights. Papers will be given but up near the name, it will be stated that the dog is "non-breeding." Non-breeding dogs are still eligible to compete in performance events and other dog sports. If the puppy is dual registered with the AKC, it will also be on AKC limited registration. The entire above still applies. The only difference is that the puppy cannot compete in AKC conformation. The AKC certificates are white with an orange border to show limited registration.
